How to Find the Best Used Furniture
Craigslist – So far people have sold on Craigslist but according to them it has been a good experience. If you’re looking for something specific, just spend a few minutes every day to browse. It is highly recommended meeting in a public place if possible. If not, make sure someone goes with you.
OfferUp, LetGo, Close5, & other apps – People have used several of these apps to furnish their apartments with great success.
Facebook – Join a local Facebook sale group or browse Marketplace.
Yard sales/garage sales – These can be hit and miss and usually require a larger time commitment. But you can find some great buys if you hit a sale at the right time.
Thrift stores – People buy most of the used furniture from thrift stores in Destin, FL. If there are thrift stores nearby then check them out every couple of weeks. The secret is to go often.
Estate sales – Estate sales are another hit and miss option. Look for estate sales in older, more established, parts of town.
Antique stores and vintage shops – Used furniture in these places usually costs a little more. But it’s also usually in better condition and/or has already been refurbished.
Furniture consignment stores – These are fun stores to peruse.
Family/friends – Let your friends and family know what pieces you’re looking for. They may have something to pass along to you.
Dumpsters and on the side of the street – Every couple of months I find used furniture on the curb while I’m walking.
